NACS Elects Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Supplier Board

LAS VEGAS -- During the 2009 NACS Show, the association announced the election of its 2009-10 executive committee, board of directors and supplier board.

Jay Ricker, president of Anderson, Ind.-based Ricker Oil Co., was named the association’s 2009-10 chairman of the board. Ricker also chairs the NACS executive committee, which provides strategic direction and financial oversight to NACS.

Also named to the NACS executive committee were:

  • Vice Chairman-Treasurer: Jeff Miller, president of Norfolk, Va.-based Miller Oil Co. Inc.
  • Vice Chairman of Research: Greg Parker, president of Savannah, Ga.-based The Parker Cos., for his fourth term
  • NACS Vice Chairman of Government Relations: Tom Robinson, president of San Jose, Calif.-based Robinson Oil Corp., for his third term
  • Vice Chairman of Member Services: Nichole Torsey, president of Redding, Calif.-based Mountain Counties Supply Co., for her second term
  • NACS Vice Chairman of Convention and Events: Dave Carpenter, president and CEO of Urbandale, Iowa-based J.D. Carpenter Cos. Inc., for his second term
  • NACS Vice Chairman at Large: Patrick Lewis, partner of Twin Falls, Idaho-based Oasis Stop ’N Go Convenience Stores
  • NACS Vice Chairman at Large: Brad Call, general counsel and executive vice president of human resources, public relations and adventure culture of North Salt Lake, Utah-based Maverik Inc.
In addition, NACS announced the election of retail members to its 30-member board of directors during the conference. The NACS retail members elected to serve are:

  • Gary Arthur, senior vice president, Valero Energy Corp. and president, Valero Retail Holdings Inc. (San Antonio, Texas)
  • Edward Holmes, president, Holmes Oil Co. Inc. (Chapel Hill, N.C.)
  • Anthony Kenney, president, Speedway SuperAmerica LLC (Enon, Ohio)
  • Max Lenker, president, RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. (Atlanta)
  • Steve Loehr, vice president of operations support, Kwik Trip Inc. (La Crosse, Wis.)
  • Bipin Patel, president, Speedy Mart Development Inc. (Springfield, N.J.)
  • Joe Sheetz, executive vice president, finance and real estate, Sheetz Inc. (Altoona, Pa.)

Meanwhile, Jennie Jones, vice president/director of marketing convenience stores for S&D Coffee Inc., was named 2009-10 chairman of the NACS Supplier Board.

And Tom Joyce, vice president of customer industry affairs for The Hershey Co., was named chair-elect, and will succeed Jones as 2010-11 chairman. 

Jones and Joyce also serve as members of the NACS board of directors.

Also elected to the five-member NACS supplier board as vice chairmen were:

  •  Scott Hill, vice president of convenience stores channel, Jack Link’s Beef Jerky
  • Lucia Crater, director national accounts, US Nutrition/MET-Rx
  • Karin Thrift, director national accounts, Clif Bar & Co.
And three new members were elected to the NACS supplier board:

  • Kenneth Fries, president, TNT Marketing
  • Wendy Redmond, director of sales and convenience (on the go), Lance Inc.
  • Brad McGuinness, vice president of product development, VeriFone Inc.
